Commentary from ASPO-SA, ASPO International and various other parties will come out over the next few days. However, it appears that the report highlights the urgent and essential need to reduce carbon emissions and prepare for a future that is not dependant on fossil fuel usage. The IEA press release opens with this quote from Nobuo Tanaka, Executive Director of the IEA: “We cannot let the financial and economic crisis delay the policy action that is urgently needed to ensure secure energy supplies and to curtail rising emissions of greenhouse gases. We must usher in a global energy revolution by improving energy efficiency and increasing the deployment of low-carbon energy.” Let the revolution begin! |
